Facial acupuncture; the key to looking younger

A facial acupuncture session will not only involve needles in the face, but we also use many other practices from both traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and modern science, such as facial cupping, gua sha, massage, derma roller, face masks and LED light therapy.

It makes skin feel tighter, thicker and more contoured, smoothing facial lines and wrinkles. It does this by creating a controlled micro-trauma which stimulates fibroblast cells deep within the dermis layer. This promotes the production of new collagen and elastin, and restores sub-dermal flow, giving the skin a healthy glow.

While Botox and fillers mask the superficial signs of aging, facial acupuncture promotes healthy skin. It can help crows feet by creating firmer and more resilient skin around the eyes. Eye bags by improving micro circulation around the eyes, reducing puffiness and discolouration. Frown lines by improving contractility of forehead muscles, facilitating better hydration. Lips by restoring fullness and improving the appearance of fine lines around the mouth. Acne by detoxifying and building the skin’s natural immunity to bacteria, whilst also improving scarring from previous breakouts by breaking the bonds that connect scar tissue to healthy tissue, allowing depressed scars to raise. This same mechanism is what allows depressed wrinkles to raise.

Facial acupuncture will also improve the general tone, texture and puffiness of the face by stimulating the lymphatic system.
