How many treatments will I need?

How many sessions you will need to see permanent relief will depend on why you are coming in. Treating chronic conditions that have been present for a long time takes longer and as acupuncture works cumulatively, we recommend at least 4 sessions to see results.

Does acupuncture hurt?

No, a common misconception about acupuncture is that it hurts. The needles are a lot thinner than an injection needle and so you will only feel a prick. If you do feel any pain the practitioner will immediately remove the needle.

Are the needles sterile?

Yes, we only use single-use needles (of course), and dispose of them in a sharps bin after every patient.

Is acupuncture safe?

Yes, acupuncture is very safe, even if you are pregnant. All of our practitioners are licensed, experienced and insured, and hold 3 year bachelor degrees in TCM.

Are there any side effects?

There are no common side effects of acupuncture, although you might feel slightly "out of it" directly after. Bruising is rare but can happen as can a temporary worsening of symptoms before improvement.

Can I receive acupuncture while I am pregnant?

Yes, you can safely receive acupuncture while pregnant, the practitioner will just avoid certain points.
